Cosmos sulphureus

Plants grow to 4’ high and are covered with dark orange and reddish cosmo type flowers.  They are quite prolific and a unique addition to any garden. Pollinators love them!  They can be used as a cut flower and/or a dye plant as they give a splendid orange color to the dye pot.  Easy to grow and harvest seed to pass along. Traditionally from Mexico.  The seed is joy to harvest as well as they sit in a stunning, architecturally pleasing round orb that you can easily collect in one hand all at once.  
 
Transplant or direct seed in May when soils warm.
