Fortex Pole Bean
$4.50Price
Phaseolus vulgaris
This delicious pole bean was recommended to me by Island gardener and pie baker extraordinaire Tom Conway at a seed swap years ago. I took his recommendation and have grown them ever since. They are a French filet type bean with rich sweet flavor. They get about 10” long and hold well on the plant-meaning if you miss a few now and then they don’t get huge and tough. If you haven’t tasted Fortex, give it a try!!
Direct sow bean when soils have warmed in early May. Thin to 4" or so. These need a sturdy trellis!
70 Days to maturity
