Dark red color and makes this loose leaf lettuce stand out in the green salad crowd. Sow in early spring and every two weeks for a continuous harvest. Merlot will not make a great head so harvest individual leaves often. I like greens to be beautiful not only on my plate but more so in the garden. I grow lettuce for baby leaf harvest in clumps of different varieties so that they look like the salad I will eat while they are growing in the garden. Try it! It’s fun! My favorite new addition to the Island Greens mix!
