This is my own personal favorite mix of greens to harvest and eat fresh any time of year. I like to chop sturdy greens into smaller bites and mix them in with the more delicate lettuces; add some colorful mustards and a light dressing and mwhaaa!
This mix has a bit of everything; all four kales, Arugula, Ruby Streaks and Ultraviolet Mustards, Mascara, Jericho, and Forellenschlues lettuces.
Growing Big Ol Bowl of Greens
When planting, the arugula and mustard greens typically germinate faster than lettuce so be sure to space out the seeds so everyone has room to grow.
Direct Sow seeds after last frost. Seeds will germinate quickly. Thin to one plant every 2”-4” for baby leaves and 8”-10” for full grown leaf harvest. This mix can also be started indoors to transplant out after last frost.. I sow 3-5 seeds together and plant in plugs about 6” apart. I get a good diversity of varieties and the leaves stay smaller.
Seed continuously in April, May, June, August and September for fresh greens all year.
30 days baby leaf, 65 days full sized
Packet contains ~200 seeds
