Multicolored Breadseed Poppy Mix

Papaver somniferum

This mix contains light purple, deep pink, and dark purple bread seed poppies. They grow tall and thrive in full sun. Enjoy the flowers in early summer as the blooms are numerous but fleeting. Harvest the seed heads for a lovely decoration.  Will reseed but not aggressively.  

Poppy Growing Instructions

Poppies prefer cool soils and germinate grow best when seeded in February and March.  They can be sown indoors but prefer to germinate outdoors, on their own time, when conditions are right for them.  You can even sprinkle seeds in October and November and they can overwinter in the soil and come up in early Spring.
