Antirrhinum majus
Copper Queen offers a wonderful and unique color palate. The deep oranges, reds, and yellows grow stronger as the flowers mature. Can be used in cut flower arrangements or as border plants interplanted with low growing nasturtiums to enhance the deep reds and oranges. Snapdragons grow to 3 feet tall and benefit from some support to keep the beautiful heavy flowers upright. The uniquely shaped closed flowers invite unusual pollinators so be sure to watch for visitors.
Snapdragon Growing Instructions
Seeds prefer cooler soils for optimal germination. The seeds are tiny and are best started indoors to transplant but direct sowing is also possible. Start indoors 6 weeks before your last frost. Direct sow around your last frost date- they like the cool soils and can take a late frost. Transplant out 8-12” apart.
