Scarlet Sage

Salvia coccinea

Covered in scarlet red spikes, this is a hummingbird favorite.  Watch them browse before your eyes.  Grows 4’ tall with a large bushy habit.  Tender perennial in the NW. 

Easy to start from seed, press seeds lightly into soil in pots to transplant or direct seed.  Direct sow or transplant when soils have warmed in May. Space plants 3’ apart.
