Helichrysum bracteatum
I love the color and texture of strawflowers. This mix contains a wide range of colors from creamy off white, to peachy pink, to rosey red offset by the yellow ring of pollen in the center. The petals are stiff and make fabulous sounds when you run your hands over them. Can be used as a fresh cut flower or harvested for an everlasting dry flower. Pollinators love them all summer long and they last well into the late Fall in your garden.
Growing Instructions: Strawflowers
Strawflowers grow easily from seed. If starting seeds indoors sow 4 weeks prior to your last frost date. These small seeds need light to germinate. Pre moisten soil and press seeds lightly into seedling mix. Transplant out two-three weeks after the last frost. Space plants 9”-12” apart.
Direct sow seeds when soil temperatures have reached 55 degrees- typically May in the Northwest. Barely cover with soil and keep the area moist. Seeds typically germinate in 5-7 days.
80 days to Maturity
Packet contains ~100 seeds
