Tagates patula

Deep red petals with yellow centers, this beautiful, low growing marigold deters pests while adding beauty to your garden.  Grows only to 12"-16" tall.  I like to plant these at the ends of the vegetable beds to bring color and distract pests.  They bloom from July to first frost.  Can be harvested for bouquets or the dye pot.  Originally from Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Marigold growing  instructions

Direct Sow seed in the garden after your last frost when soils have warmed to about 50-55 degrees.  They need light to germinate so press into the soil, keep it moist.  Seeds germinate after 5-7 days.  Space each plant 8-10” apart.

Sow indoors to transplant 3 weeks before last frost date then transplant out when soils hav warmed to 50-55 degrees.  They grow well from transplants and germinate quickly.

60 days to maturity

Packet contains ~50 seeds
